چکیده

Background: Acinetobacte is the leading cause of pneumonia and sepsis in ICU ward. Accordingly, present study, antibiotic susceptibility pattern, presence, dissemination different classes integrons fluoroquinolone resistance genes were investigated among A. baumannii isolates. Methods: In this descriptive, cross-sectional during a period 24 months (2018 - 2020), 100 isolates isolated from clinical specimens patients admitted to two teaching hospital Ardabil province northwest Iran. Kirby -Bauer disk diffusion, PCR, sequencing methods used for antimicrobial testing gene mutation verification. Results: The rates all tested antibiotics found be between 78% 100%. No isolate was resistant polymyxin B. Multidrug-resistant (MDR) rate about 99%. prevalence class 1, 2, 3 70%, 21%, 0%, respectively. aadA1 cassette detected 1 integron-carrying strains. Conclusions: High-level high observed these Our findings highlighted need continuous monitoring

Correlation of quinolone-resistance, qnr genes and integron carriage in multidrug-resistant community isolates of Klebsiella spp.

Objective(s): Plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance (PMQR) determinants and integrons have a considerable contribution to bacterial drug resistance in Gram-negative pathogens. We studied the prevalence of PMQR genes and integron carriage in multidrug-resistant community isolates of Klebsiella spp.Materials and Methods: Two hundred and fi...

Antimicrobial Resistance Patterns and Integron Carriage of Escherichia coli Isolates Causing Community-Acquired Infections in Turkey

We aimed to observe antimicrobial resistance patterns and integron carriage of Escherichia coli isolates causing community-acquired infections. Two hundred sixty-eight E. coli strains were obtained from outpatients with various infections at different polyclinics at the 82nd Year of State Hospital in Rize, Turkey. Susceptibility to antimicrobials was tested using a disk diffusion method. The pr...

Association between mutations in gyrA and parC genes of Acinetobacter baumannii clinical isolates and ciprofloxacin resistance

Objective(s): We investigated the contribution of gyrA and parC mutational mechanism in decreased ciprofloxacin susceptibility of Acinetobacter baumannii isolated from burn wound infections. Materials and Methods: Ciprofloxacin susceptibility of 50 A. baumannii isolates was evaluated by disk diffusion and agar dilution methods. PCR and sequencing were performed for detection of mutation in gyr...

Antibiotic Resistance Patterns and Prevalence of PER and VEB Resistance Genes among Clinical Isolates of ESBL-Producing Acinetobacter Baumannii

ABSTRACT          Background and Objectives: Acinetobacter species are responsible for a wide range of clinical complications in hospitalized patients. Antimicrobial treatment of clinical strains of Acinetobacter baumannii may be compromised due to multiple-drug resistance to b-lactams. Aim of this study was to determine antibiotic resistance patterns an...

Multidrug resistance and integron carriage in clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in Tehran, Iran.

BACKGROUND/AIM Pseudomonas aeruginosa is the cause of 10% of hospital-acquired infections. The organisms are often multidrug- resistant, mediated mostly by antibiotic-resistant integrons. The aim of this research was to study integron carriage and its association with multidrug resistance in burn and nonburn clinical isolates of P. aeruginosa. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 112 P. aeruginos...
